We are a team of former senior U.S. government lawyers currently based across six continents who chose to turn a setback into a new mission. When the U.S. Agency for International Development was eliminated, we joined forces to continue advancing positive global impact. We are lawyers who have spent our careers working to advance the common good. Collectively, we’ve advised on matters in more than 100 countries, including having lived in 30 countries across Africa, Asia, South America, and Europe. We’ve worked in the world’s top international law firms, as in-house counsel, and inside government agencies, multilaterals, NGOs, and companies.

We named our firm Mission Driven Counsel because it captures the ethos of who we are as individual lawyers and collectively as a law firm. We believe being "mission driven" isn’t about your title or where you work. It’s about how you think and why you do what you do. Mission-driven people and organizations balance what’s practical with what’s right. They know you can push for smarter, more strategic impact not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes good business sense, especially in the long-run. Mission-driven people and organizations usually start by asking: How will this affect the people we serve? They value commitment over convenience. They act out of gratitude, not obligation. They take the long view, even while meeting urgent needs, because lasting impact requires both. Being mission driven means seeing the bigger picture: the ripple effects of each decision, the opportunities as well as the risks, and the chance to create something better than what came before.
